Deadly poison... or exquisite cure?
Noah fell from an eighth story balcony as a toddler, cracking open his skull and shattering his body. The accident would've killed a human, but even shifter blood can't heal some damage. After the pack recommended a mercy killing, Noah's family ran. But there's no outrunning the mating pact formed before Noah's birth.
Wade, the new alpha, chooses an adult Noah to fulfill the pact. Wade believes the previous alpha was a fool to reject Noah as a weak and inferior wolf, but Noah's family was wrong to hide him and starve his wolf, too. Human doctors with human medicines are poison to shifter physiology. Now that Noah is fully grown, halting his shift to retain the pins, plates and bars holding him together hurts rather than helps him, and for Wade, more than Noah's recovery is at stake.
Noah's family sacrifice everything to keep him alive. Noah will do whatever it takes to save them-including mate with the alpha who is determined to correct past mistakes and defeat old prejudices contaminating the shifter community.
Too bad some still believe Noah is the true poison...and should be culled from the pack for good.
Content Warnings: Dubious consent, shifter knotting/tying, and Nerf gun assassination attempts. Ereaders (and you) may spontaneously combust --Don't say I didn't warn you.

This was definitely a different shifter story. I loved Wade and Noah, they were so good for each other in many ways. The sexy was hot and spicy the only thing they lacked was communication. Oh and much to my surprise this had an MPreg theme! Yes I was totally on board once I realized that!
Wade is the alpha of the pack and Noah hasn't been a pack member since he was injured as a very young child. Their views are different and it takes them working together and a lot of understanding on both their parts for them to overcome.
I loved this story and the writing was fantastic. I will definitely be looking for more books by Kari Gregg very soon!

Will Ashford lives in two closets. He meets his wealthy father's goals as both the quarterback for the famous SCU football team and a business major, but secretly he attends art school and longs to live as a painter. And he's gay. But if he can win the coveted Milton Scholarship for art, he'll be able to break from his father at the end of his senior year.
In a painting master class, Will meets his divergent opposite, Noah Zajack. A scarred orphan who's slept on park benches and eaten from trash cans, Noah carefully plans his life and multiple jobs so he has money and time to go to art school. Will's problems seem like nothing compared to Noah's. Noah wants the scholarship too and may have a way to get it since the teacher of his class has designs on him, a plan Will isn't happy about.
When a gossipmonger with a popular YouTube channel finds evidence that Will is gay, the quarterback's closet doors begin to crumble. Hounded by the press and harassed by other players, Will has to choose. Stay in the closet and keep his family's wealth, or let the doors fall off and walk out with nothing. Nothing but Noah.
Damn, I love a scarred hero/MC! Especially when they are a pretty man. I was immediately sucked into Will and Noah's story. The chemistry was undeniable and just oozed from the pages.
Will is deep in the closet, he is not out to anyone and the only sexual contact he has had with other men he has had to pay for. His father definitely rules the roost and Will has let it go as far as the fact that he plays football, has the hot (yet totally bitchy) head cheerleader for a girlfriend and yet he wants none of it. So what does Will want, you ask? Will wants to paint. He is an artist at heart.
Noah is an orphan who has had to work and struggle for every little thing he has. When Noah meets Will he can't seem to shake the feeling he gets and can't get him out of his mind.
There were definitely some times through this story that I just wanted to scream and then there were others when I teared up too. Tara Lain never disappoints me, she has an uncanny ability to just pull emotions from me. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in this series!

Average, but extraordinary, and only twice in a lifetime.
Stephen Prichard is a resilient and self-made man that has it all, a successful business, great husband, and a summer condo on the waterfront, until life throws a curve ball. After twelve years together, his husband Myron dies of cancer, leaving Stephen to confront a future of uncertainties alone.
Then, fate lends a hand when not one, but two chance encounters with the same stranger put his feelings to the test. First and second impressions are lasting. Stephen longs for companionship, and the stranger is attractive, however, he's also enigmatic and cold, and the memories of Myron are still painfully fresh.
Can a man Stephen barely knows renew his faith in love? But more importantly, is he willing to let go of the past?

I had so many emotions pulled from me while reading this book, I am not even sure where to begin. The story starts with Stephen and Myron. Stephen easily falls in love and has been through the wringer so he doesn't want to jump into yet another relationship without taking a good long time analyzing all the angles. Once they take the jump there is no looking back, they get married and have years together, but then Myron takes ill and dies. Stephen spends the next few years merely surviving, then he meets Carson. Carson makes Stephen want to live again and there is definitely some smexy chemistry.
I really loved Stephen and Myron and then Carson and Stephen. Carson took a bit for me to warm up to, but I eventually did and I loved him too. Carson and Stephen both had a few issues, but in the end they were able to finally get passed them and open up. One thing I didn't like was the attack on Stephen. I wondered how he was able to get over it so quickly, but I guess some people just deal with things differently and maybe he just brushed it off.
Overall I definitely enjoyed this book and would love to read more from Blak Rayne in the future.

I really enjoyed this story, there is just something about lovers lost then reunited that has the potential to get me every time. Even though this story is short, only around 30 pages, it keeps your interest and is definitely a steamy one. I loved Sky's reaction when he sees Leo that was definitely a laugh out loud while gasping moment. Once these guys figure out where they are going with themselves it is smooth sailing. I loved every minute of the story, yes I knew what was going to happen, but the predictability was exactly what I wanted! I would definitely recommend this to M/M fans that are looking for a short book that is sure to make you smile.
